This is just the kind of thing that winds up the fans of Linux distributions other than the one with a rich South African benefactor...

I suppose it's inevitable that most people start to associate Linux with whichever distribution happens to be the most popular at that particular time, but it doesn't half get under the skin of the rest.

And what the hackers have actually done is get the Linux kernel ported to an iPhone - there's no mention of Ubuntu on their official release here.

Still, it's quite an achievement by those guys, given the extraordinarily over-protective nature of Apple and their uber-Godphone.
